story image Making the Right Choice

Hi, My name is Rebecca, and I'm 11 years old. I live in the middle of a 1,200-acre oak forest. I have a gorgeous Welsh pony named Kody, a lovable calico cat named Coconut, and a very friendly dog whose name is Cookie.

I'd like to tell you why I've chosen a healthy lifestyle. First, I believe that we have a responsibility to care for our bodies. We take good care of ourselves by putting only good things in our bodies: fresh air, exercise, plenty of sleep, a lot of sunshine, and drinking lots of pure water. If we do these things, I believe we'll be healthier and happier, and we'll have clear minds to be able to make wise decisions.

That's why I choose a healthy lifestyle. It's best for me in the long run, and I think it would be for you too. So, I'd like to encourage you to try it. Be good to your body. Instead of snacking on a candy bar, grab a piece of fresh fruit. Instead of sitting around watching TV, go ride your bike. And by all means, don't put things like tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs into your body. When you're about to do something that's not so healthy, try doing something good for yourself instead. You'll feel better and in the end, you'll be glad you made the right choice.
