*A teaching guide is prepared for each of the nine issues of Winner September-May.
*Each guide orients the teacher to magazine content and presents a lesson plan for use
.
*Articles are rated according to readability level using the Flesch-Kincaid formula.
*Lesson plans highlight emphasis for teachers and give a clear summary, list specific objectives, and identify concepts, life skills, attitudes and values taught in each article.
*Age appropriate activity pages and worksheets are set up on a reading format and identify each area of emphasis such as reading comprehension, vocabulary, problem solving, etc.

Teaching guides for both Listen and Winner are built on an infusion model and are designed for use in a variety of class settings within the curriculum. They are also written on a reading-language arts format to aid in comprehension of the subject matter.
