What is stroke? Well, stroke is the result of blood getting into the brain thereby causing damage to the brain cells. There are several causes of stroke in men some of them being:

  • Age

How old are you? Well, don’t get scared! As much as men can get stroke in any age, the risk of getting stroke increases as a person grows older. As such, age is also a determinant to some extent in the probability of getting stroke.

  • Family History

Has someone in your family line suffered from stroke? Was it a close relative or a close family member? If this is the case, then, you are also at risk of getting stroke! There are forms of stroke that run through genetic lines of a family.

  • Hypertension

Also known as high blood pressure, hypertension is a major risk factor in getting stroke. Those who have high blood pressure related complications are likely to suffer from stroke.

  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)

If you are suffering from a sexually transmitted ailment, then, you are more likely to suffer from stroke than someone who has no STD. This is because some STDs interfere with the blood vessels and rupture them therefore are a high risk factor for getting stroke.

Stroke in men is not common but it is a risk factor in men and the best way to help prevent stroke is through eating healthy foods, living a healthy lifestyle and performing exercises frequently.
